I hope you all had a wonderful Easter long weekend, filled with plenty of (sugar free) chocolate and (healthy) treats. Hot cross buns are an Easter classic and have always been a favourite of mine, so I was delighted to find Sarah Wilson’s recipe on I Quit Sugar for Paleo Sugar Free Hot Cross Buns!
In the end they were more like muffins, but delicious nonetheless. For the sake of authenticity I added a few sultanas instead of the chocolate in Sarah’s recipes, which means there was sugar in the form of dried fruit, but the recipe is in fact sugar free. I highly recommend having a crack at these, they are simple to make and taste best fresh out of the oven with some grass-fed butter or maple syrup.
